Tara gets into the topic of intergenerational trauma and how it affects her as an Indigenous woman. The two discuss ways in which anti-Native aggression in imagery and history has a triggering effect, drumming up emotions that have never been explained to us or broken down. She explains how spaces for POC can often exhibit anti-Indigeneity which also goes back to the dire need for baseline understanding of Indigenous issues and history. Tara gets into recovering from intergenerational trauma through therapy with a Muskogee woman, writing, being in uncolonized nature and practicing traditional art.
