Jana and Eryn discuss the terms “Sovereignty,” particularly through the lens of Seeding Sovereignty, a collective that Eryn works with that connects people with Indigenous movements while dismantling colonial institutions. Eryn offers her understanding of sovereignty as largely influenced by her experience at Standing Rock and the authentic feeling of spiritual and individual freedom and liberation that permeated that space. The two discuss what it’s like to be in conversation with oppression both as the oppressed and the oppressor. They challenge themselves to be soft in a time when becoming hardened is so easy. The two end their discussion talking about bringing to the world more humorous stories of women surviving.
