Courtney Trouble identifies as a fat, gender non-binary, trans cyber sex worker. They’ve been a peep-show dancer, contact sex worker but the majority of their sex work has been done online with camming, porn production, consulting skype shows and phone sex. Courtney owns their own porn production company and is the sole owner of their company that totally focuses on queer, people of color, fat folks and kinsters.
Jana asks Courtney about fatness in pornography and sex work and Courtney describes fat invisibility in all of their various spaces. They talk about making space for themselves as fat and queer using that DIY aesthetic. Courtney talks about Body Positive Productions, making their own porn with other BBW performers and selling it to their fans. Ultimately, Courtney discusses consuming that content and supporting sex work by doing sex work. For ourselves. Buy a cam show, make porn with friends, write about sex that they like. Courtney says that people don’t talk about porn the way they talk about their favorite tv shows but that the work needs to be normalized. Everyone watches porn!
Jana was incredibly moved by her conversation with Courtney and you can see and read a piece of writing that she wrote about taking sexy pictures of her body after this discussion.
